Algonquin Founders' Days Festival

1401 Compton Drive
847-658-5340

Algonquin Founders' Days Festival began in 1960 with a group of local businessmen who wanted to celebrate their community. Fifty-five years later that tradition continues. Every year a group of dedicated volunteers work to bring families, friends and neighbors together to enjoy a family-friendly four day event, with something for everyone including: the Special Needs Carnival, Cardboard Boat Regatta, Children's Games, Market & Bazaar, the Bake-Off, great music, one of the longest standing parades in the state, Bag Tournaments, and the Fireworks Spectacular.

As an independent festival that began in 1960, there have been many individuals volunteers over the years who have given selflessly to bring Algonquin a great celebration. As the years have changed so has the festival, though we continue to be a self-sustaining festival without assistance from tax dollars. Every dollar raised brings the festival to life. Everything you see and experience through the festival is generously provided to the community by local businesses and individuals that recognize the value of our community.
