Illini State Park
Illini State Park is the type of park you think of when you think of big picnics and family gatherings. With its rustic Civilian Conservation Corps buildings and riverside picnic areas, Illini State Park offers beautiful views and a sense of history not found in many other parks.
Nice place, Host that lives in a van,a beastly woman.Nearly ran my kids over to complain my son parked in an empty sight to avoid tearing up what little grass was after a heavy rain.
Let me begin by saying I'm not the camper in my family, my wife is. But the seasoned campers in the group believed the facilities could have been better maintained, and the groups making noise until 3 am should have been monitored at some point. But the site was clean and relatively dry. The train that runs nearby didn't wake me, but woke some of the other members of our group. It's a short drive over to Starved Rock.

Great view. Shelter was very spacious and the power outlet came in handy.
Dirty facilities. Litter throughout. Noise restrictions not enforced. Camp host not at all helpful. Showers filthy. Hand dryer inoperative.
The place was nice and clean no one bothered us at all very nice water view with people in speed boats going around the only down part with this place is that if u take your kids here they will literally just get bored the only thing they have is a small play ground would be awesome if they had at least a swimming pool .... :-(
