The Peoria Bach Festival 2023 consists of six concerts and events for all ages over five days (June 5-9). For information on all the events, visit www.peoriabachfestival.org. The Final Concert of the 2023 festival features the Peoria Bach Festival Orchestra in Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F Major, BWV 1046, the first of six concertos presented in 1721 to Christian Ludwig, the Margrave of Brandenburg. They will also perform the ever-popular Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins, BWV 1043. The Peoria Bach Festival Choir will join the orchestra for two cantatas for the Sundays after Trinity: Cantata 39 "Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot" ("Break Your Bread with the Hungry") and Cantata 7:15 p.m.26 "Ach! Dem Flüchtig" ("Ah, How Fleeting"). A Pre-Concert Lecture will be offered at 7:15 p.m. by Dr. John Jost, Artistic Director of the Peoria Bach Festival. Tickets for the Final Concert may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling (309) 673-8501. All the other events of the Peoria Bach Festival 2023 are free.
