The Elgin Theatre Company 2019-2020 season continues with the comedy Suite Surrender written by Michael McKeever and directed by Julie Price.

It's 1942, and two of Hollywood’s biggest divas have descended upon the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel at the same time. They each arrive sporting their own personal assistants, luggage, and a highly rumored legendary personal feud between the two of them. Everything seems to be in order for their wartime performance for the troops but mayhem begins when we find they are both assigned to the same suite. What makes it even better is that the entire staff of the hotel is positioned to make sure that neither one realizes they are suite sharers. Small problems arise with the placement of white versus red roses. The hotel's owner, a very self-impressed female, believes she should also be singing alongside one of these ladies during the evening performance. Both of the divas have strong egos that could probably be used as supports for the Brooklyn Bridge if it ever needed them. The general manager spends most of his time dispensing the bell hops to various duties which never seem to work out just right once they are performed. Also, there is the interjection of a warmly cute lap dog called Mr. Boodles who amazingly manages to survive his way through the various goofy ongoing that continue from one moment to the next. If you are in the mood for ongoing laughs which is some cases are also triggered by what I would call mild slapstick, you will love this show. Add to this a group of on leave troops that the hotels owner decided to check into the hotel on a gratis basis, who are found overtaking the hotels outdoor pool and other amenities, and you have the perfect recipe for ongoing chaos. This one will keep you laughing until you cry. It IS that good!

Tickets are priced at $20.00 for adults and $18.00 for seniors and students.
