History:
Growing up in the 60s and 70s, drive-in theatres were a part of owner Justin West's childhood. He took it for granted that they would be a part of the landscape forever. As the 80s passed, West realized that the drive-Ins he grew up with had all disappeared. He began to look into theatre preservation and this hobby led him to his project today: A new build drive-in theatre in Galva, IL. Galva, a town of 2800, never had a drive-in and the last hardtop (indoor theatre) closed in the late '60s. Nearby Kewanee (10 miles away, pop 12,600) once had a drive-in (the Wanee) located south of town on Rt. 78, but it closed in the early 80s. In the community the thirst for outdoor entertainment is strong and it helped to encourage Mr. West to locate his new theatre in the centralized location of Galva. Stay tuned to this website for updates as they become available.
