People of all ages enjoy the many recreational areas in beautiful Memorial Park, located in the northeast part of the City on 37 acres. Four ball diamonds are located in the park along with four lighted picnic areas, stocked fishing ponds, tennis courts and playground equipment. The original pool was replaced in 1981 with an expanded pool which includes a diving pool, wading pool, intermediate pool with main swimming area. The pool offers swimming classes and is the scene of many swimming competitions in Southern Illinois.
