Oakbrook Center is one of the most prestigious and striking outdoor shopping destinations in the Chicago area.
Oakbrook mall is a very nice place with a multitude of stores, restaurants, there are 2 different movie theaters, the parking system is out of this world. There are signs near parking lots to inform you of the number of spits that are left in that lot and it continues to update as cars enter and exit. In the parking garages there are even green and red lights to indicate to you where the open spaces are located. I would recommend going here, it's near a nice community and there are several expressway and routes in the area that make getting in and out rather easy. During peak times it can seem a bit hectic with the traffic but if your trust your maps app, it will get you in and out quickly, while also helping with getting you a parking spot near where you're headed.
The mall is outdoors. One of my favorite malls in the west suburbs. Lots of parking that now features the smart parking system in the garages that light up to show open spots, occupied spots, and handicap spots. A nice assortment of shops and department stores. Definitely a "one stop shop" mall with great restaurants around it as well.
Management keeping very high standard for overall image of this great center. Eclectic mix of stores. Tons of retail energy. Great to see customers with shopping bags. Must be music to the merchant's ear.
My favorite mall in all of the suburbs, quality and range of stores are great - many stores offer a wider selection than their counterparts at other malls e.g the Lush store at Oakbrook is bigger than any other I've been to. If you're going to find a restaurant on the weekend, I suggest making a reservation - they fill up quickly. Park in the garages - regular lots also fill up quickly.
This mall is an outside mall and is great during nice weather. However when it is raining, snowing,or just plain freezing it can be a little uncomfortable. They do have a plethora of unique stores to accommodate one's own style. The luxury department stores are just not the same as they were 15 years ago. Taxes are high here too be forewarned. Parking is free and you can usually find a place close to where you want to enter.
