Wheeling High School is a four-year, comprehensive, public high school that offers all students a 21st century focus in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). US News and World Report recently recognized Wheeling as one of the best high schools in the state of Illinois. Upon graduation, nearly 90% of its students pursue post-secondary opportunities.

Wheeling High School offers a strong academic program, including 24 advanced placement courses, dual credit offerings in business, engineering, architecture and nanotechnology, as well as multiple certifications in automotive technology, computer technology, health careers, and manufacturing. Because Wheeling is a comprehensive high school with a STEM focus, you will find that technology is embedded throughout the different curricula in the school, including arts, English, and humanities classes. There are 15 computer labs and a laptop loaner program, smart boards in classrooms and a 21st century Media/Library Center. This year each freshman and sophomore will be responsible for his/her own iPad. They will use the iPad as an additional learning and sharing tool during their four years at Wheeling.
